Reviews and Ratings
My stay at the hotel was a mix of positives and negatives. The location was charming with a lovely walk along the river, but some room elements were a letdown. The service was friendly, but a lack of communication was a downside. The dining experience was delightful, but there were some issues with the shower in the room.
The hotel had clean and quiet rooms, but they felt a bit tired and dated compared to the beautiful décor in the reception areas. The rainfall shower in the bathroom was a nice touch. The service was welcoming and pleasant overall, though there was a minor mishap during one meal. The location was excellent for exploring the city on foot. The dining experience was good, especially the black pudding. The facilities were sufficient for a comfortable stay.
My stay at the hotel was a mixed experience. The room was spacious and could accommodate three of us, but it felt a bit dated and in need of refurbishment. I could hear noises that sounded like a herd of elephants, and the pillows on the bed definitely need replacing. On the bright side, the service was exceptional, with the staff going above and beyond to ensure our comfort. The location was perfect, just a short walk from the city center and York Minster, but I was surprised by the parking charges. The dining experience was mostly good, although the poached eggs cooked in water with vinegar were not to my liking.
The hotel is in a convenient location for exploring the city, with welcoming and friendly service. However, the rooms had some cleanliness issues and noise disturbances from the kitchen operations. The dining options were satisfactory but could be improved.
I had a delightful stay at the hotel. The rooms, although small, were cozy and had delightful quotes around, a huge bed, and a tiny kitchen. They were functional and immaculately clean. The staff was incredibly friendly and the breakfast was exceptional. However, the dining experience left something to be desired.
